From July 9 to August 23, 2025, the Thunerseespiele will present the impressive Disney musical "THE Hunchback of Notre Dame", based on Victor Hugo's masterpiece. THE MUSICAL STORY
A moving story about love, courage and humanity. The musical tells the story of the bell ringer Quasimodo, who grows up isolated from the rest of the world in the bell tower of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. He was taken in as a foundling by the evil archdeacon Frollo and has lived a lonely life in the tower ever since. When he sneaks into the annual Festival of Fools, he gets into trouble. Only the courageous Esmeralda stands up for him. When she is targeted by the vengeful Frollo, Quasimodo rescues her and hides her in the church tower. In the highly emotional finale, Quasimodo realizes what it means to be a monster and what it takes to become a human being.
