The warm late summer evening settles gently over Thun. On the Aare terrace, the water glistens in the golden-orange light of the sunset, while the scent of cumin, garlic and freshly baked flatbread fills the air. Friends, couples and gourmets come together at long, lovingly laid tables to experience a special culinary evening in Thun.

The oriental buffet

Oriental cuisine is a feast for all the senses - colorful, aromatic and rich in stories. Fresh herbs, sun-ripened vegetables, fragrant spices and fine roasted aromas combine to create dishes that warm the heart and palate. Taste your way through the diversity of the Orient and venture into new worlds of taste.

  • Appetizers / mezze:
    Avocado hummus, baba ganoush, muhammara, fattoush salad, taboulé, flatbread, falafel, stuffed vine leaves, kibbeh senia with beef, batata harra (spicy potatoes), oriental roll
  • Main courses:
    Chicken kebabs, lamb kebabs, beef kebabs, lamb chops, fasolia (bean and beef curry), grilled vegetables, almond rice, bulgur, stuffed courgettes
  • Sauces:
    Garlic sauce, hot sauce, sesame sauce
  • Desserts:
    Harissa (semolina cake), Hakawet El Jibn (filled mascarpone roll), special oriental cream dessert

The Story behind the Event

The inspiration for Falafel & Friends comes from our kitchen - more precisely from our head chef Tobi and chef Khalil. With passion, a wealth of family recipes and great attention to detail, he brings the flavors of his homeland to the plate. Many of his specialties are homemade - from creamy Baba Ganoush to sweet Sepezial Creme - which bears his wife's name.

Khalil began his journey with us as a kitchen assistant - with diligence, passion and a lot of humor. We encouraged and supported him to successfully complete his Progresso. He has been a permanent member of our kitchen team since 2024 and brings a fresh, oriental influence to our à la carte menu with his authentic recipes and homemade specialties.

Experience a culinary evening in Thun that takes you into the world of oriental specialties - in the open air, with a view of the Aare and in the best of company.

Booking information - Tickets are available in advance. In the case of multiple bookings, we will of course reserve the seats together.
The event takes place on the terrace - in case of bad weather in the restaurant. Please inform us of any allergies or intolerances when booking.‍
